County candidates to speak at May 3 breakfast

The Justin Business Association will hear from candidates in contested Denton County races next Thursday, May 3.

The association meets at 8 a.m. at the Mule Barn, FM 156 just south of FM 407.

Candidates who have confirmed they will attend include 16th District Court Judge – Sherry Shipman and Derbha Jones; Sheriff – Benny Parkey and William Travis; Constable Pct 4 – Tim Burch and Sam Mooney; and County Tax Assessor-Collector – Marc Moffitt and Michelle French. Sheriff candidate Jesse Flores had not confirmed he would attend as of Monday.

All are seeking the Republican Party nomination in the May 29 primary. None have Democratic opponents.

Early voting will be May 14-25. Early voting sites had not been announced by Denton County elections division as of Tuesday.
