The Justin City Council will begin holding workshops on the fourth Monday of each month instead of the first Monday, according to city secretary Virginia Blevins.

Blevins said this week that allowing more time between meetings gives council members and employees extra time to do research on discussion items. The council holds its regular meetings on the second Monday of each month.

The fourth Monday in May is Memorial Day, so the workshop will likely be held Tuesday, May 29, or Wednesday, May 30, according to Blevins.

City Council had a special session before the April 30 workshop to vote on two items.

They approved a recommendation from the Economic Development Corp. to enter into negotiations with Pacheko Koch Consulting Engineering, Inc. for a study of the water and sanitary sewer master plan and an impact fee study.

Emory Kea and Leslie Hatley-Baker were approved as Parks and Recreation Committee members.
